Restaurant Review
Previously known as Café Ashton, 610 Grille offers creative American-bistro fare in an intimate and elegant setting. This appears to be the place to be for a business lunch - so we felt a bit out of place in our street clothes. However, we were greeted by a friendly waiter that immediately made us feel more comfortable as we sat at our white linen covered table.
I had seen several references to the Mayor Mike's Cobb Salad being a must-try so we ordered that along with a Buffalo Burger. The Cobb Salad is served as a cylindrical tower of chicken, avocado, bacon, and tomato atop a bed of bibb lettuce and drizzled with a buttermilk blue cheese dressing. (We opted to forgo the chopped egg.) The ingredients were fresh and flavorful, although the larger chunks of blue cheese were a bit overpowering for me, but otherwise, the dressing and salad were delicious. But I'm a meat and potato girl, so the burger and sweet potato fries were what I had my eye on. The buffalo meat had a wonderfully smokey flavor, however, it was a bit dry. It was served with ketchup and mayonnaise on the side when I would have expected a specially concocted barbecue sauce to compliment the meat, cheddar and bacon. Thankfully, sweet potato fries can never disappoint and these crunchy strips of sweetness certainly did not.
