It’s hard to feel anything less than upbeat while dining on bistro-style comfort food and listening to the sizzle of an open kitchen. The culture of the Fairmont district seeps through the exposed brick walls and concrete floors giving Lili’s the appearance of an already well-established restaurant. And there’s almost no doubt it will be if everything tastes anywhere near as good as the popular Gorgonzola fries. Lunch is a fabulous assortment of burgers, salads and the signature roulade sandwiches, while the dinner menu offers such delicacies as roasted frog legs, Asian crab cakes and a farm-fresh veggie plate. To sample what the kitchen has to offer, order a smattering of smaller plates to share between friends. But be sure to save room for dessert as the heaven and hell cake is not to be missed.
