Restaurant Review

Southwestern accents punch up a classic fine dining atmosphere that boasts dark woods and white tablecloths. The expansive dining room has wood partitions separating different dining nooks within the room and Texan touches dot the elegant space. Look for the cowboy boot birdhouse that welcomes you to the restaurant.

Native and seasonal ingredients improve the flavors of dishes, especially in the hands of a skilled chef like Jon Bonnell. Gourmet magazine included Bonnell’s in its list of Best Farm to Table restaurants. Bonnell’s works with area farms and ranches to serve organic quail, grass fed beef, and free roaming game. Farmers Market produce, cheeses, and stone ground grits also figure prominently on the menu.   

The service is as flawless as the food. The servers are confident and knowledgeable about the menu and they are attentive yet unobtrusive.

Start your meal with The Oysters Texasfeller which includes fresh gulf oysters fried to golden perfection atop cilantro and tasso ham crowned with Hollandaise. The tender and juicy Grilled Quail contrasts nicely with the spicy touch of jalapeño cream. Beef lovers will enjoy the perfectly prepared and tender grass fed beef.
