Lemon, Honey & Habanero Steak Flatbread at Central Market H.E.A.T. (4651West Freeway). CM Fort Worth launched a new food truck late last week and what a beautiful weekend it was to grab a bite, sit on the patio, and listen to some live music. The food truck selections will vary, but Saturday featured flatbreads and the Habanero Steak did not disappoint. Tender steak with just the right amount of heat came topped with caramelized onions, cremini mushrooms, and a spicy basil aioli all on soft and fluffy Naan bread. |

Well, drink of the week...Key Lime Margarita at HoTTuB's Back Porch Grotto (4413 Trail Lake Drive). I’m a picky margarita drinker, however this one had just the right balance of sweet and sour, which is where I feel most margaritas go wrong. To start, it is mixed and served in a mason jar, and who doesn’t love a drink in a mason jar? The kicker is the brown sugar simple syrup that gives it a molassasy depth of flavor along with Sol Azul Añejo 100% agave tequila. The only thing missing is a warm sunny day on Hottub’s spacious patio, but those days are not too far away! (photo courtesy of Callie Salls)

Panang Curry at Thai Rice & Noodle (9094 Camp Bowie West). After a long day at work this week, I had to hang up my apron and ask my husband to pick up dinner on his way home. The perfect balance of sweet and spicy with beef, red bell peppers and licoricy basil, Panang gets its color from dried red chilies. The best part is that there’s just enough for dinner and lunch the next day! The restaurant recently expanded into the neighboring space with more seating and is perfect for a casual lunch or dinner but is still one of my top choices for take-out. |

I’m going to do my best to post the thing I eat each week that leaves me craving more. Not a bad resolution, right? This week goes to one of our favorite go-to restos, Tokyo Café (5121 Pershing Ave.) We finally ordered Omakase, which means that it’s up to the chef to choose each of your courses. Course 4 of 7 was thin-sliced seared beef on Kabocha mash with chili and green onion oils. Sweet, smoky, spicy, creamy, tender, DELICIOUS! |

If you watched the special edition of No Reservations - Food Porn, then you saw Bourdain sit down with David Chang at Momofuku Ssam Bar in New York. Over shaved foie gras and lychee with a riesling gelee they began talking about guilty pleasures – those shameful foods that draw you in for inexplicable reasons. Bourdain confesses to an obsession with “nuclear orange” KFC mac and cheese and Chang gives up that his guilty pleasure is chicken nuggets with sweet and sour sauce. I found it hard to believe that these ultimate foodies would admit to eating anything that comes from powdered cheese and processed chicken! But don’t we all have our vices? |
